Christina “TeeTee” Samano (née Ramirez) BSN, RNC-OB was given in life to Agustin and Maria Ramirez on June 14, 1977, at Kaiser Permanente Fontana, CA. Christina was raised in Colton, CA with three siblings: Rosa, Jorge, and Agustin Jr. She attended Lincoln Elementary, Colton Jr. High, and Colton High School and belonged to Immaculate Conception Church. Christina graduated from Colton High in 1995, the same year she gave life to her son, Steven Paul Razo. She attended nursing school at San Bernardino Valley College, earning her RN in 2000. Her career as a Registered Nurse took her to Salinas and then to Bakersfield in 2003, to Kern Medical Center in labor and delivery. There, she met Ramiro Samano and they married. She gave life to Caleb Joel in 2012, and gave life to Olivia Rey in 2016. In 2018, her career took her to Mercy Southwest Hospital. As the Manager of the Family Birth Center at Mercy Southwest Hospital, she was responsible for many team members, which included the Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Post-Partum departments. She loved helping women through the delivery process and bringing life into the world. She earned her BSN from Grand Canyon University in 2020. A consummate professional whose career spanned two decades, Christina was also instrumental in the careers of many nurses and doctors - guiding them throughout their residencies. She was highly respected by the medical community.
As much as she enjoyed bringing life into the world, Christina loved living life. She was an avid sports fan, with a penchant for the 49ers, Lakers, Dodgers, and Notre Dame. She was known to sneak into the empty hospital rooms on break and catch a bit of March Madness. Her love for music was eclectic and never ending. She could go from The Cure, Prince, NWA, Kelsie Ballerini, Mozart, Darius Rucker, Vicente Fernández, Jimmy Allen, George Michael, Foo Fighters and never skip a beat. She loved adventure, traveling, live music, sports, food, wine, and time spent with loved ones, especially her family and close friends. A natural kindred spirit to many, her charisma made her a wide circle of friends and loved ones. Christina was always present in the lives of many, prioritizing celebrations and events, big and small, for family, friends and colleagues alike. When you were in her presence, you never felt like her mind was somewhere else.
Christina’s faith was central to her life and love. Her love and trust in the Lord allowed her to face her challenges and live boldly, trusting in God’s plan and Divine Mercy. She learned how to forgive and ask for forgiveness. She found a spiritual home at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church where she and her family grew in faith and love, with the spiritual guidance of their priest, Monsignor Perry.
After a years-long battle with cancer, Christina was given to our Lord peacefully on December 31, 2024. She was surrounded by love and embraced by family and loved ones. She is survived by her children Steven, Caleb and Olivia, her loving husband Ramiro, her parents Agustin and Maria, her three siblings and their families: Rosa and Guy Lopez, Marcé, Nick and Jacob Lopez; Jorge and Carol Ramirez, Nate and Lanah Ramirez; Agustin Jr. and Felicia Ramirez, Lily and Abby Ramirez; her brother-in-law Daniel and Reyna Salazar; her brother-in-law Michael Zazueta; and her mother-in-law Maria Samano.
