

Christopher Briggs Rodriguez was born on February 11, 1970 in Bakersfield, California. He grew up in McFarland, California graduating from McFarland High School in 1988. Basketball was his love in high school and he was a key player and league MVP on McFarland's 1986-1987 Championship team.
After high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne division. He was deployed to Nicaragua, Panama and during "Desert Storm," Saudi Arabia and Iraq. He would later join the Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The training he received there would lead him into a long career in the medical field.
He loved biking, kayaking, hiking and climbing. He also loved to seek out-of-the-way eateries and planning new adventures with his wife Brenda and his children. He loved spending time with his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife Brenda; brother, Matthew Rodriguez (Andrea): children, Christopher Robert, Emily, Luke, Tiffany (Luis), Brittany (Luis), Cody and five grandchildren; parents, Robert and Susie Rodriguez; grandmother, Nancy Briggs; grandfather, Robert Y. Rodriguez; father and mother-in-law, James and Susie Dixon; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to his employer, San Joaquin Community Hospital, many doctors and co-workers. Chris was loved by many.
Inurnment will be Friday May 8, 2015, 12:30 p.m. at the Bakersfield National Cemetery, 30338 East Bear Mountain Blvd Arvin, California followed by an evening celebration of life reception. 6:00-8:00 pm, at Medical Office Building, Rio Bravo Room, 2nd Floor 1524 27th St. Bakersfield, CA 93301.
In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been established for Christopher's children with Wells Fargo Bank Acct#1367525696.
