

"We lost a good one" was said as family and friends witnessed Clive Edmund Hamlin pass on last Thursday. 81 years old, Clive lived a long life giving joy and happiness to many He was the rock of his family, providing wisdom and security to his wife of 41 years, Jeanette Hamlin, his daughter Vicky, stepchildren Bennie and Bruce Phillips, his grandchildren Blake, Ariel, Hannah, Lauren, Benjamin, and Brandon. He loved his siblings, Helen, Vigil, John and Jack. Along with his parents, Jack and Eula Hamlin, Clive moved from his birthplace of Stigler Oklahoma, to Shafter California, while Clive was very young. His family are true survivors of the "Grapes of Wrath" era, who endured the tough times of the Great Depression. Clive and his family worked hard picking cotton and any other job that put food on the table. After graduating from Shafter High School, Clive joined the Coast Guard and was discharged with the rank of 2nd Class Petty Officer. He went on to work many years for Atlantic Richfield and All American Pipeline Company. He will be missed by his long time friends Grant and Marilyn Mobley, Lloyd Williford, Sharon and Carlos Fugate, and many others. Clive was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Vickie, and brothers Virgil and John. Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary on Wednesday, January 18th, 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Service will be held on Thursday, January 19th at 2:00 PM. Clive will be missed by all who knew and loved him
