Daniel Thomas Robinson passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Dan was born in Santa Ana, California. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. After the Air Force, Dan moved to Mettler, California in 1975, where he joined business partners and longtime close friends, Peter and Mona Pankey, to form Key Farm. His dedication, hard work, and integrity were instrumental in building a legacy in the farming community, one rooted in lifelong friendships and family.
Dan was instrumental in the lives of so many. Through his years on the farm, he became not only a mentor, but a teacher of both work ethic and character. Whether he realized it or not, Dan taught many what it meant to work hard, to show up with integrity, and to face challenges head on. He led by example, and those who worked beside him walked away with more than just skills; they carried with them values that shaped their lives.
Dan enjoyed spending time on the golf course as often as he possibly could. He enjoyed traveling the United States in his 5th wheel with wife, Cindy, and close friends, Kelvin and Kathy Gregory. These adventures brought him great joy and cherished memories.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Robinson and stepmother Rae; beloved mother, Shirley Cook and stepfather, Perry; and numerous farm dogs, all named Max. Though we mourn Dan’s loss, we find comfort in knowing he is now reunited with them.
Dan is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy Robinson, and his loving daughter, Tara Magner. He was a proud grandfather to Austin and Andrew Magner, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Robinson and wife Judy; sister, Mary Herrera; stepbrothers, Bill Cook and wife Jody, John Baker; and stepsister, Barbara Favilla. Dan’s love and laughter lives on through his nieces, nephews, and countless others that had the privilege to be part of his life.
Dan’s life was defined by generosity, quiet strength, and a deep commitment to family and friends. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
