David Eugene Tomlinson

July 6, 1936 – May 8, 2025

David Eugene Tomlinson, age 88, of Bakersfield, California, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Born on July 6, 1936 to Ronald and Lula Tomlinson, David lived a long and fulfilling life marked by dedication to his savior, Jesus Christ, his family, country, and the values he held dear. He was known for his giving heart, quiet strength, and unwavering kindness.

David was born and raised in Bakersfield and only left his home for a few years for Army helicopter flight school and again after being promoted to Sacramento and then Denver by AT&T. He built lasting relationships throughout his church community. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn R. Tomlinson (58 years) and then his wife Barbara O. Tomlinson (3 years) and is survived by his loving wife Judy and four daughters; Cindy Stevenson (Ken), Sandra Nygard (Kevin), Teresa Jones, Lisa Chariton (Craig) and many grandsons, grand-daughters, great and great-great grandkids and a host of cherished friends who will honor his memory and legacy in the days to come.
