Donald "Donnie" Johnston

Donnie graduated from Arvin High School in 1966.

Donnie married his high school sweetheart Janice Bivins Johnston in 1966. They were married 55 years. They had four children; Roger, Kevin, Michael and Jill.

Donnie enjoyed woodworking and camping.

He built a home on Mt. View Rd. where they raised their family. He built his wife a Gazebo, a She Shed, an over the stove spice rack and an in closet shoe holder. He made a piano bench for the convalescent hospital in Arvin.

Donnie was a drywall contractor until 2011 when he had a heart transplant. He made the overhang over the desk at Bill Lees Restaurant.

Donnie accepted Jesus as savior and regularly attended Truth Tabernacle church until his health prohibited his attendance. He was baptized in Jesus name in his bathtub by Brother Kenneth Blackwood.

Donnie is survived by his wife Janice; children Roger Johnston and wife Donna; Kevin Johnston and wife Misty, Michael Johnston; Daughter in Love Amanda Gomez; Jill Charter and husband Ryan. Siblings; Carmen Blevins, Jeri Miller, Mary Chapman, Jimmy Johnston and Johnny Johnston. Grandchildren; Victoria, Zachary, Kayla, Paul, Christopher, Amanda, Matthew, Andrew, Brooke, Victor, Nicholas, Jessica and Anthony. Great Grandchildren: Logan, Jackson, Aaron, Skylar, Maylee, Bentley, Ryanne and Ryder and Numerous nephews and nieces.

Donnie will be missed by his loved ones.
