Elvira Ruiz Castillo

Elvira Ruiz Castillo, born on April 11, 1926, in Santa Maria, California, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on March 6, 2026, at her home in Ridgecrest, California. She resided in California her entire life leaving behind a legacy of unwavering strength and devotion to her family.

Elvira was a cherished daughter to Gustavo and Perfilia Ruiz. She was a devoted mother and loving grandmother, and her world revolved around her family. She was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking, taking walks and listening to music.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister Lucia Gonzalez; her three daughters Rosalinda Cruz, Cynthia Castillo, and Maria Castillo; grandchildren Tina Cecena(Miguel), Juan Castillo, Anthony Castillo(Sherry), Adrian Evers (Genevieve), Gina Evers, and Karen Scott(Mike); great-grandchildren Chelsi, Ali, Rozlynn(Rafael), Cynthia, Ariana, Asha, Felix, Linsy (Mike), Ryan (Maureen) and great-great grandson, Owen. Elvira was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; former husband Juan Castillo; her sons John, Luis, and Arthur.

The family would like to thank Elvira’s caregivers and hospice nurses for taking such loving care of her. Memorial services are scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2026, at Funeraria Del Angels Hillcrest in Bakersfield, CA. Viewing is scheduled for 12pm to 1pm, with memorial, graveside services and reception to follow.
