Freda Louise Kubas-Doyle January 22, 1945 - January 8, 2012 Freda Louise Kubas-Doyle passed away on January 8, 2012. Freda was born in Bakersfield on January 22, 1945. She was preceded in death by her son Pete Young, her mother, her father, her sister and two brothers. She is survived by her Husband Bill Doyle and her daughters Tonya Harl and Shelly Lozano. She is also survived by eleven Grandchildren and twelve Great Grandchildren as well as three sisters and a brother. Family was of the upmost importance to Freda; she cared deeply for all that she loved and by whom she was loved. When she walked into the room everyone could feel her vibrant, eccentric, and carefree personality. There was never a dull moment with Freda around, whether she was dancing, singing, or coming up with some type of scheme or prank to pull. With her love and desire to always help people, she was a tough, hard-working, and a strong willed woman. Anytime she put her mind to something it was full force and 100% of her effort until it was completed her way. Known simply as Freda to one and all she worked tirelessly to get a clean water source for the people of Glennville. Freda lobbied a number of politicians in Sacramento to obtain water for the Glennville community and also led protests to demand drinking water. Freda was the first president of the Glennville Mutual Water Company and lived to see the company provide clean water to the Glennville community in 2011. Freda also founded "Hearts for the Hungry" a group devoted to providing a hot meal to the less fortunate at Martin Luther King Park. The group started feeding about 30 people one Saturday a month and soon was serving over 150 at each gathering. This group expanded to distribute groceries and clothing as well as making Christian Ministry available at the park. Through Freda's hard work they also spearheaded drives to distribute coats and warm clothing during the winter. She also sponsored a large Christmas party at the park for all comers that included a huge meal and gifts for children and adults alike. Freda will be interred at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd, Bakersfield, CA 93306 on January 12, 2012. A service will be held at the park Chapel starting at one PM. There will be a Remembrance with refreshments immediately following the service at the home of Tonya Harl in Rosedale. Details will be provided at the conclusion of the service.
