Freda Everett Hamilton passed away on October 3, 2022. She was born in Whitefield, Oklahoma to Jasper and Edith Everett and had two siblings; Wanda McCain and Reba Everett. She married Bob Hamilton in 1949 and enjoyed 66 years together. They raised their sons, Barry and Randy, in Bakersfield. Freda was an educator and guidance counselor at Foothill High School for twenty years. After retiring, she was a dedicated volunteer in the community for many years at Guild House Restaurant, benefiting the Henrietta Weill Memorial Child Guidance Clinic, and Habitat for Humanity.
Freda had a love of the outdoors and instilled the same in her family with adventurous camping, fishing, and backpacking trips in the Sierras. Golf was the family sport enjoyed on Bakersfield and Morro Bay golf courses. She loved to make people laugh and was quick with joke enjoyed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church on November 2 at 10:00 a.m.
