Gerald spent nearly 30 years of his life as a Steel Operator at the winery in Lamont, Ca and retired there when it was known as Heck Cellars Winery. He loved working for the winery and made many great friends over the years.
Gerald loved his family and spending time with them. Some of the best memories were the family BBQ’s at Gerald and Arlene’s house where we would swim, sing Karaoke, listen to Elvis Presley, watch football and of course play cards or gamble. Gerald loved to play the card game 31 and he taught his daughters, grandkids and many of their friends how to play over the years.
Everyone who knew Gerald knew he LOVED gambling and going to Las Vegas. Gerald and Arlene spent almost every Super bowl weekend in Las Vegas where many of his family and friends had the pleasure of joining him over the years. He loved playing the Penny slot machines the most. If Gerald and Arlene were not in Las Vegas then they were at the Rez or anywhere they could gamble.
Gerald was an avid coin collector and started all his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s coin collections over the years. He was the #1 Patriot fan and converted three of his grandsons to the Patriot’s. He was most happy when his football team the Patriots were in the super bowl while he was in Vegas. Gerald would have been upset the Patriot’s didn’t pull out the win, but he would have said that was a hell of a game. Gerald will be missed by all.
