Gregory Lloyd Brooks

He spent much of his professional career at Aera Energy, where he was respected for his commitment and integrity. In the 1990s, Gregory followed a spiritual calling and served as a youth pastor at First Baptist Church in Taft. Through his ministry, he offered guidance and encouragement to many people, sharing the message of Jesus Christ with compassion and conviction. His unwavering devotion and spiritual leadership left a meaningful impact on those around him.

Gregory is lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Lynn Brooks; his son, Austin Brooks; his daughter, Brittainy Brooks; his sister, Michelle Brooks Tillery; and his grandchildren: Destanie, Everett, Kay Lynn, Matthew, and Natalie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Charmayne Brooks.

A funeral service will be held on September 8th, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Bakersfield First Assembly, 4901 California Ave., Bakersfield, California, 93309. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield, California 93306. A reception will follow the burial.

Gregory’s life was a testament to faith, love, and service. May his memory continue to inspire and bring peace to all who knew him.
