Harry Virgil Sanders

Harry Virgil Sanders, 68, of Bakersfield passed away on Monday, February 9th, 2015 at 7:14pm. Harry was born to the late Chester and La Nelle Sanders of Taft, California on February 10th, 1946 in Denver, Colorado.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lillie Sanders of 46 years. Three daughters and 7 grandchildren: Sheri L. Atherton and husband Philip R. Atherton, their children Gregory P Atherton and Haley L. Atherton; Suzanne L. Sanders her children Sydney R. Sanders and Kaiden T. Baldridge; and Carole A. Rich and husband Richard R. Rich, their children Taylor N. Doss and husband Daniel C. Doss, Cameron D. Rich and Cassandra D. Rich. also surviving sister Pamela J. Mitchell and husband Daniel L. Mitchell of Taft, California, their children Melanie, Jennifer and John Mark Mitchell. Amy Trujillo and husband Mike Trujillo of Chico, California.

Harry graduated from Taft Union High School in 1964, and served in the U.S. Navy for four years and is a Vietnam Veteran. Growing up in Taft, California and living in Bakersfield nearly all of his life. He worked as an engineer for Pacific Bell/AT&T retiring from there as well. Harry loved God and his family unconditionally, and was loved by many. We love you Dad you will be in our hearts forever, till we're together again.

There is a visitation scheduled on Sunday, February 22nd from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield, CA 93306. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23rd, at 10:00am also at Hillcrest with burial to follow at The Bakersfield National Cemtery, 30338 E. Bear Mountain Blvd., Arvin, California.

Family has planned a gathering at Parkside Church 2515 Church Ave., after the burial (near Bakersfield College). The family invites you to eat and visit in celebration of Harry.
