

Born and raised in Bakersfield, Jayne graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1966. She embarked on a global adventure, spending 25 months in Bayreuth, Germany, where she welcomed her daughter, Angela Tiner.
Jayne dedicated many years to the banking industry before transitioning to a 25-year career at California State University, Bakersfield. Throughout her life, she embraced numerous opportunities for travel and personal growth. As a single mother, she tirelessly balanced work and family, often taking on second jobs to provide for her children.
In 1983, Jayne and John Mayfield welcomed their son, Jerrod Mayfield. She later married Jim W. Rogers, sharing 33 wonderful years of love and companionship. Together, they explored countless miles in their fifth wheel, creating cherished memories.
A talented and creative individual, Jayne designed and oversaw the construction of her family's home on a spacious 2.5-acre property. She had a deep love for animals, caring for horses, sheep, pigs, pigeons, dogs, and cats throughout her life.
Jayne was preceded in death by her husband, James Rogers, her parents, Alvin and Marilyn Griffith, and her dear friends, Candy Biagi and Carol Bradshaw.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Angela Owens (Steven); her son, Jerrod Mayfield; her brother, Midge Griffith (Marlene); her granddaughters, Deborah Aswad, Stephanie Short (Jordan), Ashlyn Mayfield (Nick), and Alexa Mayfield; and her four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 2pm.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest in Valley View Lawn.
Edith will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
