Lela was a beautiful soul.
She loved life, was deeply devoted to her husband, and treasured her marriage.
She delighted in being a mom and adored her girls.
Lela loved God and served God with honor and faithfulness.
Mr. Martin, Sandy, Cindi, and family, my deepest sympathy for your loss. I will be praying for your strength as you find your new life's balance.

Everyone who met your mom always was greeted with a beautiful smile and a huge hug.   Lela always had a way of making people feel important.   When she spoke to you, she listened and made you feel special.   I’ll always remember that about her.   Cindi, I loved your mom.   She was a beautiful Godly woman who I will deeply miss.   She’s no longer suffering and in the hands of our Lord Jesus….  Jim and I are praying for you and your family.

My condolences to Dr. Dave, Cindy and Sandy.  

In our sorrow, as we miss this larger than life lady, but we know she is with Jesus.

Never before have I witness a man so loving and connected lovingly and spiritually to his wife than Dr. Dave and Lela...now THAT'S how a man should l Iove his wife!!!

I call him Dr. Dave because he knew just what she needed as far as her health and care was concerned.   As a hospice nurse, Dr. Dave was a health partner and  a gift to our Bristol Hospice Team.  All I had to say was the medical terminology and he would explain everything to me including the history of the medical condition.   I'm not sure who taught whom.

Cindy and Sandy- you are daughters like no others.  Your devotion is undeniable toward your parents.   Every family should be so demonstrative in their love ❤️.  Your husbands are world-class as they prepard Mommy's favorites,  gave support to Daddy and freely shared you two with your parents.  Your children were awesome and brought their grandmother so much joy....she was proud of you all.

Thank you for including me and my team along your family's journey.  My life has been enriched by witnessing your unconditional love.

How is it possible that you are gone? I feel like my arm or foot is missing. The pain is so deep and poor Dad trying to navigate a world without you. Thank you for always believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. I love you more… baby girl

I miss you so much Mama.  A huge part of my heart is missing.   I know you are in a better place and no pain that’s what’s gives me some peace.  My first best friend and the one that always helped me through rough times and enjoyed all the good times.  RIP Mom. Heaven has truly gained an angel ❤️❤️❤️ Sandy
