Margaret Edith Frankhouser

Margaret was born on September 1, 1937, in Bakersfield, California to Thomas and Zella Magee. She went on to attend Kern County High School (Bakersfield High School) and graduated in 1955. She worked at King Lumber Company, Kern Land Company, and Rain for Rent. Margaret met the love of her life, Jack Thomas Frankhouser and they married on November 24, 1956, and had 3 sons, Michael, Mark, and John.

Margaret was a devoted Mother and Grandmother and affectionately known as Sam, she loved spending time with her children, sharing stories, playing games, watching TV shows and her trips to Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe. She was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

Margaret is preceded by her husband, Jack Thomas Frankhouser and their son Michael Frankhouser, her parents and brother, James Laycook.

Margaret is survived by her loving sons, Mark (Marcie) Frankhouser, John (Renée) Frankhouser and her grandchildren, Jack (Kendra) Frankhouser, Kara (Joshua) Ince, Samuel (Megan) Frankhouser and Zachary Frankhouser and her great grandchildren, Carter, Thomas, Lauryn, Lainey, Robert, and numerous cousins and friends. Margaret’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

A private funeral will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Margaret to the Alzheimer’s Association. A special thanks to the entire staff at Sage Care Home and Bakersfield Home Health Care for their loving care for Margaret.
