Margie was a true country girl born in Atascadero, CA and was raised on an almond ranch in the El Pomar district of Paso Robles. Her upbringing instilled within her a strong work ethic and love for a simple life. She attended Templeton High School, where she was active in choir, Future Homemakers of America and Rainbow Girls along with being a band majorette.
In 1955, Margie was introduced to Dick Millwee by her brother, Arthur, who was dating Dick’s sister, Pat Millwee. Dick and Margie soon began dating and were married in 1957. Their 68 year marriage filled with love and devotion became a lasting model for their family.
Margie was a devoted homemaker who poured her heart into caring for her family. She created a safe, loving and godly home where her children were nurtured, encouraged and deeply loved. She was active in PTA at Rosedale Union School and faithfully supported her children in all their school and sports activities. In 1979, Margie began working at Ticor Title to help provide for her children’s college education. She was known there as a diligent, dependable employee whose humor, kindness, and godly character earned the respect and affection of her coworkers. In 1988, Margie retired to joyfully devote herself to her growing family, especially her newborn grandchildren.
Above all else, Margie’s life was defined by her love for God and for others. Alongside her husband, Dick, she faithfully served as a member of the Pioneer Drive and Rosedale Church of Christ where together they devoted themselves to sharing the gospel, teaching God’s word and caring for those around them. Margie was known for her gracious hospitality and willingness to open her home – and her heart - to anyone in need of friendship, advice, encouragement and care. She possessed a remarkable knowledge of God’s word and a unique ability to share her wisdom with others in a way that made them feel valued and loved. Her positive spiritual influence touched the lives of so many people which brings glory to God and serves as a powerfully testimony to her faith in Jesus Christ.
