Robert “McKenna” Carver was born on February 21, 1974, to Dennis and Greta Carver, the oldest of five children. On November 2, 2025, McKenna left this world far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship that will never be forgotten.
McKenna will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 27 years, Katie Carver, and their three beautiful children, Whitney (19), Camille (17), and Monte (14)—who were the pride and joy of his life.
McKenna grew up on the Carver Ranch between Delano and Woody, California, where curiosity and creativity shaped his early years. He loved animals and always had pets, dogs and cats that were his companions in countless adventures. One of his first dogs, Seagore, was famous for chasing the tires of McKenna’s bicycle, sending him tumbling time and time again. Those playful battles were just the beginning of a life filled with stories worth telling.
From a young age, McKenna was fascinated by mechanics and fabrication. He learned from his father and honed his skills, building useful things. His talent was undeniable—he crafted a dining table that seated ten and an entertainment center that became the centerpiece of his home. These creations weren’t just furniture; they were symbols of his love for family and his gift for making life beautiful.
After graduating high school in 1992, McKenna joined the United States Army, serving four years with honor. Stationed in Germany for two years, he embraced new experiences—collecting beer steins, visiting castles, river rafting, and rappelling down mountains. He even learned to tolerate warm beer! His time overseas was full of adventure, though one motorcycle accident convinced him that two wheels weren’t his calling.
Later, at Fort Hood in Texas, McKenna rekindled his love for classic trucks, working tirelessly on his cherished 1971 Chevy pickup—a project he hoped to pass down to his children one day.
After his honorable discharge, McKenna pursued mechanic training in Phoenix, where fate and friendship led him to share a home with John Jenkins and Jeremy Clarke which was full of a lot of fun until the monthly phone bill came. He spent many hours talking to Katie on the phone while she was at Cal Poly. McKenna and Katie would meet often at Copper State—just ask Doyle about the time McKenna was roped into refereeing!
In 1997, McKenna returned to Woody to work as ranch foreman alongside his father. Soon after, he proposed to Katie, and on August 1, 1998, they began their life together and she became the queen of his double-wide trailer. They spent five years on the ranch before moving to Bakersfield in 2003, where they bought their first home and welcomed their greatest blessings: Whitney in 2006, Camille in 2008, and Monte in 2011.
McKenna wore many hats—rancher, mechanic, electrician, and eventually entrepreneur. In 2015, he earned his Electrical Contractor’s license and launched Carver Electrical, installing solar pumps and wells. For his company, he built several custom trailers that were nothing short of masterpieces. His craftsmanship was unmatched, and his determination inspiring.
He was also a proud cattleman, deeply involved in the ranching community. He loved taking his kids to see the cattle, checking fences and water, and sharing his passion for the land. Brandings and community gatherings were highlights for him—moments of camaraderie and tradition that he cherished.
Above all, McKenna was a family man. His children were his world, and his protective nature knew no bounds. He had a big heart for friends too—always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer support. If you were lucky enough to know him, you knew you could count on him.
McKenna’s life was a tapestry of hard work, adventure, and love. Though he was taken too soon, his spirit lives on in every fence he built, every table he crafted, and every memory shared with those who loved him. Katie, Whitney, Camille, and Monte will forever carry a piece of him in their hearts.
Until we meet again, McKenna—we love you bunches and bunches, with oceans of love.
