Nancy Louise Flores was born on June 9, 1960 in Chowchilla, CA to Marshall and Katherine Harbison. Along with her two older siblings Pete and Marcela and two younger siblings, Michael and Angel the family moved in 1965 to Norwalk, CA. Nancy attended Lakeside Jr High where she first met the boy who would become her lifelong love and partner Ronnie at age 13. She attended Santa Fe High School for two years before the family moved to Bakersfield in 1976. Nancy graduated from Highland High School in 1978. As fate would have it Nancy and Ronnie would reconnect in 1979 and were married on March 22, 1980. The couple settled in Whittier were they purchased their first home as they welcome their first daughter Katrina Marie. Tragedy struck the young couple in 1983 when their second daughter, Brianna Louise died shortly after birth. Nancy would always carry this loss heavy on her heart. Still determined to create the large, loving family she was raised in the couple welcomed Tessa Nicole in 1984 followed by Clarissa Elizabeth in 1986. Nancy was the ultimate girl mom. You would often find the girls all in matching outfits on a shopping outing. The girl pack ended with the arrival of Ethan Christopher in 1989.
In 1992 the family relocated to Bakersfield where Ron and Nancy ran a business together for 18 years while raising the kids. Nancy would later take a position with the Kern High School District in 2010. Nancy‘s greatest position was being the CEO of the Flores household. When it came to being a Mom, Nancy received her Doctorate in child behavioral studies, her Masters in creativity and originality and a Medal of Honor for commitment to excellence of party coordinating courtesy of her 4 kids. Nancy volunteered and helped in all their classes, lead Girl Scouts, sewed some of the cutest Halloween costumes and ran the family business office. She also took pride in being a “ Cool Aunt “ to many nieces and nephews. Her sense of humor and fun energy were unmatched.
Just as kids were growing up and moving out of the house, Nancy became a grandma. Another joy of her life. Nancy was Grandmother to seven boys and one girl.
Nancy could light up a room with a smile and laugh. Her loss will be felt by not only her family but the friends she made.
Nancy passed from this life June 6, 2023. She survived by her husband and partner of 43 years Ron, children and spouses, Katrina and Tim, Tessa and Jared, Clarissa and Ethan.
