Nancy Maureen Peterson, age 73, of Bakersfield, California, went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2023. She was born Nancy Maureen Falk on April 3, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Raymond and Loretta Falk. She was the youngest of two. She graduated from North Torrance High School in 1968. On February 17, 1973, she married Carl Andrew Peterson in Gardena, California. She is survived by her loving husband, Carl Peterson, and lovingly remembered by her children, Melanie Hines and Erin Peterson, and grandchildren, Cassandra Stanford, Jessie Hines, Kinnedy Edmondson, Jordyn Beagley, and sister Renee Boal. She was devoted to serving the Lord and was commonly called the Word Woman and Prayer Warrior. She served as a leader for women and led ladies' bible study. She had such an anointing for women's ministries that women would be lined up waiting to be ministered to. She had the praying power to break strongholds and move mountains. She was so in tune with the prophetic that some thought she had a direct line to God. She poured her heart and soul into her home and family for many years. Nancy wanted to contribute to her family's livelihood, so for a short time, she cleaned houses and worked the beauty counter at JCPenney. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, dancing, laughing, and caring for her home. She would express her joy by saying, “Yippee Skippy,” accompanied by the dance of joy. She was actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren and an anchor in her family. She had a loving and welcoming spirit that brought people together.
Nancy's funeral service is Friday, September 29, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306,from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
A graveside service for Nancy will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
