Paul A Watkins was born October 24, 1937 in Marlin Texas to Paul A Watkins Sr

and Mary Helen Clark. He was born the first of ten children. Paul, his parents and his siblings

migrated to California on October 11, 1945. Paul received his education at Hawthorne

Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and Bakersfield High School, formerly known as Kern High

School. He graduated from Bakersfield High School and continued his education at Bakersfield

Junior College.

During his high school years Paul ran track and played football for the Drillers #13. He

loved football. He also played for Bakersfield Junior College and played in the Potato bowl

where he wore #11 at BC. After College, Paul went to work for Kern Medical Center (aka) Kern

General Hospital. He worked as a laundry worker, became assistant manager and later was

promoted to the supervisor of the laundry department. Paul worked at KMC for over 30 years,

until his retirement. After he retired he was an adamant attendee of Bakersfield High School

football games weekly during football season. Paul Watkins met Alma Killebrew his first year of

college, to their union came 4 children. They were together 45 years until her demise. Paul

loved family gatherings. He was the patriarch of the Watkins family. Paul was an outgoing,

friendly, active person throughout his life. Everywhere he went he made friends. Paul was no

stranger to anyone. He always laughed and joked with everyone. Paul lived a full prosperous

life. He loved being on the go. He had a lot of wisdom and knowledge. He liked to give advice to

his friend and neighbors. He always possessed a protective spirit about him. And he walked

with confidence and authority. He was strong and if anything was challenging him in life you

would never know because he always had a positive outlook about life . Paul expressed to his

daughter that he prayed 3 times everyday, so he knew the Lord.

Paul was preceded in death by his life partner Alma Killebrew, parents Paul A Watkins

Sr. Mary Watkins, sister Minnie Watkins Gadson, and brother Thomas A Watkins.

He is survived by his uncle Bryant Watkins of Los Angeles Ca, and Beaulah Allen of

Dallas Texas, siblings; Annie Coston, Mattie Parker, James Watkins, Reverend Richard

Watkins, Missy. Brenda Figures, Jerrel Watkins, and Eric Watkins. His Children Taqueeta,

Kevin, Melvin and wife Sandra, Yolanda and husband JR Lovett all of Bakersfield California. His

Grandchildren (Taqueeta) Jahon, (Kevin) Alise, Skye, Ethan,Ivan, (Melvin) Nastashia, Taylor,

Nicholas, Maiah (Yolanda) Matt, Rayshawn, Lazette, Achilles, KRon, and 1 great

granddaughter Narcissa all of Bakersfield California.

Paul will be missed by his entire family he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts,

uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.to cherish his memory.
