

Raymond Elzie Hunt Jr., born on June 14, 1944, in Fresno, California, peacefully passed away on October 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of their home. He was a devoted husband, and uncle, friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness, integrity, and unwavering love.
Raymond was the son of Raymond Elzy Hunt and Ruby Helen (Oxford) Hunt. He married the love of his life, Susan A. (McDaniel) Hunt, and together they shared 57 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
A proud native of Bakersfield, California, Raymond’s educational journey began at Bakersfield City Schools, followed by Bakersfield High School, where he excelled in Industrial Technology, Student Government, and was Danny Driller for the class of 1962. He furthered his education at Bakersfield College, earning an Associate of Arts degree and a Certificate in Real Estate. During his school years, he was an active member of Circle K and the Renegade Knights.
Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. His military career included overseas assignments in Turkey with TUSLOG Detachment 3-2 in Samsun, and at Da Nang Air Base in Vietnam, exemplifying his dedication and service.
With a diverse career spanning over 30 years, Raymond worked in sales, real estate, advertising, and industrial products. He also held positions as a Purchasing Manager for 7 years and Safety Specialist for 14 years, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to excellence.
Beyond his professional life, Raymond was passionate about hunting, fishing, camping, RVing, boating, water skiing, sailing, and snow skiing—activities that brought him joy and relaxation. He was a dedicated deacon at Valley Baptist Church and actively participated in various trade professional groups.
Raymond’s legacy is one of love, service, and adventure. He leaves behind his beloved wife Susan. His sister Joyce McAbee (husband Rod) whom he was very close too. Susan and Raymond spent many holidays with Joyce and Rod and made countless trips and memories with them. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and many friends whose lives he enriched with his warmth and wisdom.
Preceding him in heaven his parents Ray and Ruby, sister Helen Kennedy, and Elizabeth Harris.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
