Ronald Dean Berry

Ron Berry passed over on February 2, 2017, at the age of 77. Known to many as Ronnie, he attended Bakersfield High School where he met the love of his life, Patricia. Ron and Pat were married in 1960 and had 3 children. Ron worked at Andres Drive-In during High School and his early years of marriage while also working for Kern Schools Federal Credit Union. Ron started as a teller for the credit union and worked all the way up to President, CEO. He retired after 26 years of service due to complications of Juvenile Diabetes.

In retirement, Ron and Pat loved to travel both in their RV and on many cruises. Ron lost his beloved wife in 2011 and never recovered from his broken heart. All his children, grandchildren and many lifelong friends all find comfort in knowing that they are reunited in heaven with our Lord.

Ron is survived by his twin brother, Donald Berry, his children, Ronda Newport (Walt), Debra White (Drew) and Mat Berry. Grandchildren, Martin Hansen (Elyse), Magen Holgate (Kellen), Mindy Leungwai (Ben), Ronnie Hansen, Drew White (Beki) and Macade White (Carlee) and step grandchildren, Jill Helmle (Chad) Jessica Newport and Katie Mueller (Brocket) as well as 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Gural, his wife of 51 years, Patricia Berry and his brother Jerry Berry.

Services for Ron will be held Monday, February 13, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Valley Baptist Church, 4800 Fruitvale Avenue.
