Ms. Ruby Mae Forrester Bryant Lowe

Born in West Virginia April 20, 1927

Died June 5, 2010 in Bakersfield, California

Ruby lived in Tennessee most of her early years and that is where she met Claude Bryant to whom she was married for 51 years until his death. They had a daughter Joyce who is now deceased and a son Jim who lives in Kentucky. Joyce has a daughter Brenda. Jim has two sons, Kevin and Erik and a grandson Kellan. Ruby and Claude lived in Ohio for much of their married life. They moved to Bakersfield around 1980 to take care of Ruby's mother after she had a stroke.

Ruby was married to Clarence Lowe for seven years until he passed away in 2006.

Ruby was an excellent cook and loved to have friends and relatives visit or to visit them. She loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She made many of her own clothes as well as many of Joyce's clothes.

Ruby loved the small things in life - trying recipes she had cut out of the newspaper or elsewhere, picking blackberries off her sister's boat, or just window shopping. She always had time to stop and smell the roses. We should all stop and remember to do that in the rush of our daily lives.

Ruby is predeceased by her mother Ethola Forrester, sister Betty Lasater, brothers Ed Forrester, Kenneth Forrester, and daughter-in-law Rhonda Bryant.

Ruby is survived by her son and grandchildren, her sisters Hazel Williams, Ruth Adams, Ethel Wiskirchen, her brother Pete Forrester, and numerous nieces and nephews.
