

Sally Marie Lucas, a resident of Visalia, CA passed away on Saturday, March 6 at the age of 93. She was born Sarah Marie Caric on May 9, 1916 in Venice, CA. Sally and her late husband George Lucas, Sr. were in the table grape business for over fifty years and enjoyed world-wide success with their Silver King label. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening and growing orchids. Most of all, she had a strong faith and especially loved her family. Sally cherished being part of her children's and grandchildren's journey through life. She was a source of strength and wisdom, and will be fondly remembered for the deep relationships she cultivated with her family and large circle of friends. She truly enjoyed her life, and a great party! She was also a founding member of the Delano Slavonic Club. Sally is survived by two sons, George , Jr. and his wife Susan of Visalia, and Louis and his wife Jill of Solvang; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty eight years, George, her parents, two brothers and three sisters. Her Rosary and Funeral Mass will be at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 900 H Street, in Bakersfield, on Wednesday, March 10, at 12:00 noon. Graveside services will follow immediately at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities, 1630 N. Dinuba Blvd., Visalia, CA 93291.
