In 1996, she married her best friend, Donald Batsch, and they shared 29 wonderful years together. Momma Song was not only a devoted wife but also a proud mother to her two children, Michelle Cole and Michael Batsch.
Her academic achievements were notable; she was second in her high school class and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in mathematics, which she used to pursue a career in teaching. Momma Song was multilingual, fluent in Spanish, Korean, and English.
A lover of books and her Bible, she spent much of her time reading and listening to the scriptures, with Proverbs 28:1 being her favorite verse.
She leaves behind her devoted husband Donald Batsch, her two children Michelle Cole, husband Brandon Cole, and Momma Song's grandson Reece, and son Michael Batsch. She also leaves behind her loving mother O Jin Yi, and siblings. As one of six siblings she leaves behind a brother and 4 sisters. Brother, Song U Yi and his wife, Kum A Yi. Sister, Jung Sook Yi, brother-in-law, Jung Hong Kim, sister, Song Jeong, brother-in-law, David Jeong, sister, Sun Hui Kim, brother-in-law, Jinse Kim. Sister, Sun Mi Yi and brother-in-law, Joung Hun Lim. She also left behind many nieces and nephews.
Momma Song's legacy of love, faith, and dedication to her family and community will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
She will be privately laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family thanks you for all of your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
