Ted worked on the family farm near Drake North Dakota through his late teens then moved to Tioga North Dakota. There he met his wife Beverly and worked for his father in law, Charles Rodewald, for a short time as an electrician apprentice.
While working in Tioga, Ted met Ralph Prather, the owner of an oil well servicing company. He became interested in oilfield operations and left his electrical job to serve in the oil industry where he remained for over 70 years. He began working in oil well service operations then accepted an opportunity to work with an independent exploration and production company. His association with that company required moving his family from Columbus North Dakota to Casper Wyoming, then Bakersfield California, and finally to Denver Colorado where he served the company as vice president.
The corporate world was not for Ted. His love for working with people and being outdoors was enough to make him leave his position and move his family back to California. There he developed several oil field related small businesses and partnerships.
Ted was a storyteller making many friends throughout his life and had many stories to tell of his adventures and quandaries with each of them.
In October of 2001, Ted and Beverly attended a Billy Graham Crusade and together accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and are now at peace together with Him.
