

Virginia Susan Patrich, known always as Susie, was born on January 9, 1954, and passed away in her sleep on March 3, 2025. She grew up in Hawthorne California with loving parents and two sisters and a brother. Susie always aspired to a have a beautiful home and be a loving housewife. She fulfilled this role for many years with her husband, Pat, until his passing. Susie later shared her life with Joe, though he tragically passed away two months before their wedding date.
Following Joe’s passing, she owned and managed American Eagle, their house-building business, in Victorville. The business prospered until the housing bubble burst in 2008. Subsequently, she relocated to Bakersfield to be closer to her family.
Susie was known for her generosity and concern for others' safety, often keeping track of her sisters while they traveled, using the Find Friends app.
Her life was characterized by love, dedication, and resilience. She is survived by her sisters, Dana and Jennifer, Jennifer’s family, and her late brother Chuk’s family. She will be greatly missed by them and many other family and friends.
A celebration of her life will take place at Jennifer’s house in Bakersfield on Thursday, April 10, from 3pm – 5pm, followed by a service at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Santa Barbara, located at 4575 Auhay Dr., on Saturday, April 12 from 1pm – 3pm.
