Born February 25, 1946, Billy grew up running the Westchester neighborhood with buddies Bruce Rapp and Greg Iger. The stories he told from those days sounded like scenes from The Little Rascals. Those friendships endured a lifetime.
When Bill left Franklin Elementary and started Emerson Jr. High, he made another good friend, Jerry Loudon. It just so happened that Jerry had a little sister. Her name was Linda. And this is how Billy came to meet the little third grade girl who would eventually become his wife.
BHS (64), Bakersfield College, then three years US Army Special Forces in Viet Nam. Like many who served in the most difficult circumstances, Bill was extremely reluctant to ever talk about those years.
Billy returned from military service and began working as an electrician, soon to be associated with Loudon Electric. In 1987 Bill became owner and manager of his own very successful business, Willis Electric.
Bill and Linda were married over 53 years. They have two daughters, Tina Willis and Amie (David) Daniel, three granddaughters, Madison, Lauren and Peyton Daniel. Billy treasured his family so dearly and was proud of the accomplishments of each one.
Bill had an inquisitive mind. He had a natural curiosity about so many things which lead him to lots of different hobbies over the years. Ski boats, model trains, golf, camping, snow skiing, motorcycles, cruising, fishing, metal sculpture, he even decided to learn to play the ukulele.
He loved the mountains, loved the ocean, and found the perfect blend in their home in Cambria.
Bill loved his Porsche. He loved the trips and all his Porsche Buddies.
Billy absolutely treasured his friendships. He nurtured and protected his relationships with people. He was generous, fair, loyal and utterly honest. Bill treated everybody with respect and if he cared for you, he made sure he told you so.
