It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Harry A Crarry, known to family and friends as “Peanut”. Peanut passed away peacefully in Barstow, CA on July 18th, 2025, at the age of 90 years old. Peanut’s mother gave him this nickname when he was just 6 months old. When Peanut was about 6 years old, his mother married Kenny Borge, who worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and when Peanut was 8 years old, the family moved to Barstow. Peanut attended local schools and graduated from Barstow Union High School in 1954. Before graduation, Peanut started working at the Santa Fe as an apprentice and worked there for 11 years. After ending his career at Santa Fe, he started working at Fort Irwin, MATES National Guard Consite. He worked there for 37 years, then retired on Friday the 13th of 1992. He served in the National Guard for 38 years, obtaining the rank of Warrant Officer CW4.
In 1964, Peanut met his future wife, Joan, and in March 1965 they were married in San Bernardino, CA. Peanut was a loving husband to Joan for over 60 years and a loving Dad to his daughters, Michele Stoner (Darin) and Blythe Waterhouse (Brian).
All his adult life Peanut enjoyed working on and restoring old Ford vehicles. You could always find him in his garage working on something or helping other old car buffs work on their old cars. He was also a capable carpenter, welder and all-around repairman. He could build or repair most anything he put his mind to. Peanut really enjoyed his retirement.
Preceding Peanut in death was his mother and stepfather, Lorene and Kenny Borge and his father and stepmother, Arthur and Louise Crarry.
To honor Peanut’s wishes, there will be no services.
In the meantime, condolences, support and memories of Harry A Crarry “Peanut” may be added and sent through this website.
