

Joe had three brothers Don, Bill, Bob and a sister, Sarah.
Soon after graduating High School Joe Enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on Nov 30 1953, and attended Recruit Training at MCRD San Diego California. and Served in the Korean War, where he earned the Korean Service medal, the United Nations Service Meal, and National Defense Service Medal Cpl Lane was Honorably Discharged Nov 29, 1956 and returned to Indiana. In December 1956 a close friend and Fellow Marine Mr. Tommy Glenn McCauley of Cliff New Mew Mexico, asked Joe if he wanted to be a Cowboy and invited him to move out west to help out on their ranch in cliff, soon after he did.
Joe Fell in Love with and married Edith Faye Williams the Daughter of Samuel Gill and Faye Blyth Williams of Silver City.
Joe and Edith had three son’s Sammie Joe Lane, Tracy Leeroy Lane and Darren Alton Lane.
Joe became a Union Iron Worker along with his brother Don Lane, this type of work required them to travel all over the country, for more than 20 years until he retired in 1994.
After retiring Joe returned to Silver City where he fell in love with the Food, the People, and the laid back culture, he enjoyed volunteering at the Silver Senior Citizen Center where he took great pride in raised and lowered the flag, he also enjoyed volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, along with the Local Marine Corps League.
Joe always had a passion for classic vehicles and joined the local car club the Copper Country Cruiser’s and participating in all sorts of events and charity’s.
Survivors Include His Son Tracy (Jocelyn) Lane.
Brother In-law, George (Becky) Williams.
Six Grandchildren: Mrs. Nicole (Josh) Beal, Jacqui (Neil) Hartsfield, Abby (Blake) Garrett.
Miss. Kimberly Lane, and Mr. Randy Lane, and Mr. Joey Lane.
Great Grandchildren: Theo Hartsfield, Mason Beal, and Reagan Beal.
Joe Lane Lived an amazing life, he was very patriotic loved his country, and was very proud of his military service.
Joe Loved New Mexico Food especially “red Chile Enchiladas” was always considered the voice of reason during times of hard ship, and was the type of person that would be there to help in any way he could. He Love restoring his old classic vehicles and, spending time with his sons and grandchildren.
