Joseph Glen Evans Sr.

Joseph passed away peacefully on August 23, 2017 at the age of 91 yrs. old. He was a long time resident of Barstow and Hinkley, Ca. Joseph has born in Mansfield, DeSoto Parish Louisiana April 10, 1926. He was the third born of triplets. He and his sister Mary (passed April 2016.) were the two survivors of that birth. Joseph married his beloved wife Sylvia D. Evans for 58 yrs before her passing in 2004. They have 9 children, 18 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.He was a dedicated father, a devoted Christian, Deacon in the church a humble soft spoken man that loved to cook and loved life. Joseph retired from the Marine Base after 30 yrs. he continued to work for an additional 10 years. He owned a ranch in Hinkley Ca. where he raised pigs for sale. He was known for cooking great BBQ Ribs and owned that business for a short time. He was also a devoted Mason. Joseph hobby was collecting different items including vintage cars. Joseph was always helping others and supporting his Church and family. He is remembered with love by his brother Tilman Evans Family and his children Joseph Jr, Gary, Charles, Robert, Duran, Rodney, Teresa and Joyce and their extended families and a host friends.His son Garland passed January 2016 Services will be held at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 1360 Riverside Dr. Barstow, Ca. 92311 at 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 2, A Repass will follow the service in the adjacent hall next to the church.
