Martha Saenz

Martha Saenz, age 86, of Apple Valley and Barstow, California, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024, with family members around her. Martha was born in Los Angeles, California on August 30, 1938, to Arthur and Isabel Sias. She had five siblings – Armida, Isabel, Arthur, Rudy, and Richard. Martha married Margarito (Margo) Saenz on May 3, 1958, and had five boys – Steven, Richard, Matthew, Timothy John (T.J.), and Mark.

She worked as a clerk for the civil service for 10 years and was active at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Barstow for many years, where her husband Margo served as a Deacon. Although Martha lived in Barstow for most of her adult life, her final years were spent living at Solstice Senior Living in Apple Valley to be close to her son Steven.

Martha was predeceased by her parents, four of her siblings, her husband Margarito, and her son Richard. She is survived by her sister Isabel, Son Steven and his wife Terry, Richard’s wife at his passing - Jamie, Son Matthew and his wife Dina, Son T.J. and his wife Heather, son Mark, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.

Martha loved and adored her family. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply and forever missed.

A rosary for Martha will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 505 E Mountain View St, Barstow, California 92311. A mass will occur Monday, January 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM, 505 E Mountain View St, Barstow, California 92311. Committal service will be private, a reception will follow the Mass Monday, January 6, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Noonan Hall, 505 E. Mountain View St., Barstow, CA 92311.
