Mary Alice Guardado

Mary Alice Guardado went to be at peace with Jehovah on August 18, 2015 in Barstow, Ca with the love of her life, Jerry Sr., by her side. Mary was born on July 2, 1937 in Seligman, Az to Rosa L. Griego and Clemente J. Griego. She was a resident of Barstow, Ca for 67 years where she was an owner of Rosita's Restaurant: she waitressed, cooked, did the bookkeeping and was above all the ultimate hostess to everyone. Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Rosa L. Griego, her father, Clemente J. Griego, her grandson, Anthony Louis Genaro Grossman, along with her loyal Doberman Sabrina. She is survived by her husband, Genaro (Jerry) Guardado Sr., of 61 years along with their children: Rosemary Mason of Decatur, IL, Geraldine Smith of Newberry Springs, Ca, Anna Lemme and her husband Bill Lemme of Bakersfield, Ca, Margret Grossman of Barstow, Ca and Genaro (Jerry Jr.) Guardado Jr. and his wife Diana Guardado of Barstow, Ca, 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, her faithful dog Zadie, as well as countless family members and friends. Mary's kind spirit and loving personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life, open to all who wish to attend, will be held on Sunday, August 30th at 1:00 pm (doors will open by 12:00 pm) at The Performing Arts Center of Barstow Community College at 2700 Barstow Road, Barstow, Ca 92311. A reception will be held at Rosita's Restaurant, located at 540 West Main Street, Barstow, Ca 92311, immediately following the services.
