Sandra D. McKinley, passed away peacefully on January 13th, 2025 at the age 62. Born on November 12, 1962 in Los Angeles, California, Sandra touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed. Sandy was the fifth child to her parents Roosevelt and Katherine McKinley.
Sandra attended public school in the Los Angeles School District, she graduated from Fremont High School for cosmetology professions in 1981.
She worked from home french braiding hair and braiding in hair salons for 15 years. Sandy changed her career to become a MTA bus driver in LA County for 10 years, she made another career change and relocated with her job to South Carolina still in Public Transportation. She was then promoted to a Supervisor and did this for 15 more years, Sandy retired in 2019 and returned back to California after retiring. Sandy loved her work experiences in both of her careers and also spent much of her life in service to others.
Sandra was preceded in death by her mother Katherine E McKinley, Father Roosevelt McKinley, Nephew Reginald D Whitfield, Stepbrother Billy Ray McKinley, step sister Barbara T. McKinley
She leaves to cherish her memories, her son Donvey McKinley. Sandy has 5 grandchildren, Laila R. McKinley, Stacy S. McKinley, Mia R. McKinley, Marley McKinley, Malia McKinley, siblings: Marilyn J. Harris of Los Angeles CA, Ronald R. McKinley of Barstow CA, Sherry E. McKinley of Highland CA, Michael J. McKinley Sr. of Los Angeles CA, Kenneth R. McKinley of Los Angeles CA.
She also leaves a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sandy was well known for several of her interests, her appetite for learning only grew stronger as the years went by. If shopping were an olympic sport, she would have a gold medal in every category! She was an expert level shopper, enjoying online shopping as much as brick and mortar stores.
Sandy loved to go on trips with her sisters and friends, any time spent with her family was always a good time! She also enjoyed playing with her grandchildren.

Sandy was a special part of our family and will always have a special place in all our hearts. It is during these times that we see how blessed we are to have a loving family and wonderful friends. Through our cherished memories, Sandy will live on forever!
