He was born in Merced on November 8, 1969, where he resided until his move to Barstow at the age of 18. He studied math and sciences at both Merced and Barstow Colleges. He was a life-long learner and philosopher who pursued many interests, especially computer programming. He loved all music, travelling with family and friends, and was a voracious reader. He was an avid San Francisco 49er fan who loved to cheer the team on with his Uncle Joe Garcia. He enjoyed exploring new cuisines and cooking, and often reminisced about his Grandma Atilana's cooking.
Vince is known for bringing out the best in those he cared for. He will be remembered for being selfless, devoted, ever and always present to his family, friends and those he knew. He had an incredible sense of wit and an ability to find the truth in every situation.
Vince will be sadly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his loving parents, Helen Gonzales, and Manuel and Mary Gonzales; sister Stephanie (and Mitchell) Smith and nephew Coleman Smith; Uncle and Aunt Joe and Josie Garcia and their children Joseph Garcia and Lisa Kimball and family. He is also survived by loving step-siblings Barbara Jean (and Rick) Rizzonelli, Cheryl (and Scott) Copus, and William (and Kim) Brown of Merced, California, and their families.
He cared so deeply for his family and friends and had a way of making them feel like they were the most important people in the universe and could take on the world. He did this in a humble way and was never too busy to help whenever you needed him.
Vince, you will always be in our hearts, minds, and souls and we are all better people because of you.
