Adela Falcon Rodriguez

Adela Falcon Rodriguez was born on January 20, 1920, exactly 90 years ago today here in Beaumont. Her parents were Cruz Falcon and Susana Chavez Falcon. She grew up with eleven brothers and sisters. On February 15, 1942, she became the wife of Antonio Rodriguez when she was 22. Their marriage was blessed with five children whom they raised in a little pink house on 337 Grace Street in Beaumont.

Adela was known for her generous heart and was always involved in helping anyone she came across. Her children have memories of hobos from the tracks sitting on the back step eating a warm burrito and leaving with a sandwich in a paper bag. What a wonderful example she was to all her family, who benefited the most from her generous and loving heart.

Adela was blessed with a long and happy marriage. She and Tony were married for 65 years. She was feisty, sometimes naughty, but always funny. As she grew older, she had her share of health problems and her family had to become more involved. Shirley moved in with them at their house in the Barrio and she lovingly cared for them for many years. Grandma Della was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2005, but even till the end, she never lost her humor. She would make faces to make us laugh, even if she didn't remember our names. Now, she is at rest. Now she is in peaceful sleep.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Roman, Gilbert, Leo, Julian, David and Steve Falcon. Also her sisters Anita Lara, Agnes Velasquez and Alice Lopez. She is survived by her sister Frances Roman. She was the beloved mother to Mary Lou Franco, Shirley Garcia, Robert Rodriguez, Susie Mastas and Geri Lopez. She had twenty-five grandchildren, fifty four great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She will be forever in our hearts.

Arrangements are being handled by Weaver Mortuary 1177 Beaumont Ave Beaumont, CA, 92223. (951) 845-1141. Visitation will be held 4:00pm -8:00pm on Monday Jan 19, 2015. Funeral services will be 9:00am Tuesday, Jan. 20. Interment immediately to follow at Riverside National Cemetery.
