
United States Marine Corps Veteran

Alvino Gerald Clowe was the son of Jackson and Anna Clowe, both deceased. He was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Vino, or Al, as he was affectionally called by his friends and family, graduated from William Penn High School. He joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served two tours with honor and distinction and earned four (4) Purple Hearts while wounded in combat in Vietnam. Before joining the military, he worked in various industries in the Harrisburg area, such as the Penn Harris Motor Lodge as Maître D’, Three Mile Island, The American Can Company, and various construction jobs working with his father.
He was a proud, patriotic Marine veteran, who was dedicated to his military career while in the service of his country. Vino was a hard-working individual who spent his life basically trying to help others. He was a free-spirited, friendly person who lived his life on his own terms. Vino will be remembered by his friends and family as a fun-loving, and well-liked, caring person. He had many friends in his community, who loved him and will miss his open and sharing personality.
Vino was preceded in death by both parents, his siblings, Tonie Clowe, Angela Green, and Robin Clowe, all of Harrisburg. Left to grieve his passing is his daughter, Lisa Renee Townsend, son-in-law, Peter Townsend, grandson Ian Townsend and extended family, Gina and Chris Peterson, Kai Wilson, and Marian Wilson all of Phoenix, Arizona. Alvino will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
A military memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2:30pm.
