

Tony was born in San Antonio, Texas to Albert and Dolores Pena on July 20, 1926. He married the love of his life, Maria in 1975 in Manhattan Beach, CA; they were happily married for over 42 years. He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Western University Law School. During his career he worked for several major Aerospace companies, the last one being The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA from which he retired in 1988. He was a veteran of World War II and severed in the U.S Navy, serving his country honorably on a submarine. Tony was very active in his church, St. Stephens in Banning. and served the church in the capacity of Warden for many years.
Tony was first and foremost a loyal and faithful Texas Longhorns fan. With Tony now rooting for them from Heaven, we are sure this year will be one of the best ever for the Texas Longhorns. He was a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and he took great pride in his family and his love for all them was always constant and unconditional. He truly was the patriarch of the family and his guidance and wisdom will be remembered with great fondness by all who sought his counsel.
Tony was preceded in death by his both of his parents, his five brothers and sisters, and his son, Larry Pena, stepson, Larry Wells and stepdaughter, Lucy Brewer.
Tony is survived by his wife, Maria, his sons, Antonio Pena, Jr.,(Rayleen), and Michael Pena (Johanna), daughter-in-law, Barbara Pena, stepdaughters, Larcine Gantner (Erwin) and Kathy Ivovic (Greg), his grandchildren, Antonio Pena III, Denisha Guevara, Matthew Pena, Luke Pena, Julianna Pena, William Gantner, Earl Gantner, Christopher Brewer, Timothy Brewer, Leslie Alber and James Alber and nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews as well as his many cousins, all of whom loved him dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 23rd at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 225 E. Eighth Street, Beaumont, CA, with Father Bill Dunn of St. Stephens officiating. A reception will follow immediately after the service in the church hall. Tony will be interned at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA later that week. Arrangements are by Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, CA.
