Danilo Pastor Obal, passed away on Monday July 13, 2020 at 69 years of age. Dan was born December 12, 1950 in Oakland, California to Pastor and Rosie Obal. Dan is a veteran of the Vietnam War with the Marine Corps. After which, he became an engineer.
Dan had many passions, including that for drawing. From which he had accumulated many awards in art shows he participated in.Furthermore he cherished his red Miata, often riding with the top down to feel the wind in his face, claiming he felt like a pilot in his own mini jet. He had always enjoyed the idea of the sky and heavily treasured a glider experience granted by the VA and was further granted a multitude of opportunities including the ability to use a compound bow, not letting his lack of sight get in his way. His passions also stemmed from his love for the ocean, where he enjoyed surfing, sunsets, and occasional fishing trips. Finally, he was known for his sense of humor and his kind, compassionate spirit.
Dan is survived by his wife Jeanie Obal of 48 years, son Jason Obal, son Michael Obal, daughter in-law Heather Obal, granddaughter Alyssa Obal, grandson Alexander, grandson Anthony, grandson Lucas, brother Rod, brother Renny, brother Lee, brother Rick, sister Teresa Garrett, sister Rosa Clemens, and sister Rosie Jones.
