

Donald Duane Premus was born in Webster, South Dakota on October 19, 1933. He passed away in the arms of his loving wife on October 12, 2010 in Rancho Mirage, Ca. Don married Coletta Agnes Davidson October 23, 1954. He was a long time resident of Calimesa, Ca, as well as residing in Banning, Ca and Dyer, Nevada. He worked hard his entire life to ensure that his beautiful wife Coletta and their seven children, Mike (and Leslie) Premus, Steve (and Debbie) Premus, Linda Premus, Cheryl (and Eric) Mumper, Kathy (and Paul) Simpson, Randy (and Bonnie) Premus, Sandy (and Rob) Hyatt were always provided for. His life was blessed with 23 grandchildren, Kyle, Emily, Camille (Hyatt), Matthew, Christopher, Brandi (Premus), Cortney (Gildea), Misty, Jamie, Tabitha, Kasie, Kenna (Mumper), Lisa, Duane, Jennifer (McGurk), Alyssa, Jenessa, Cody, Caleb, Caden (Premus), Michael, Tiffany, Travis (Premus), and 4 great-grandchildren, Logan, Sayde, Kyle and Melanie, who brought great joy to his life, and who he left with amazing, loving memories. Don was a veteran of the United States Air Force, he worked as a US Postal Carrier in Indio, Ca, owned/operated the Atlantic Richfield service station in Calimesa, Ca, owned/operated Banning Auto Salvage in Banning, Ca, and was the inventor of the Fan Clutch Eliminator, an invention of which he was very proud, and with his wife always at his side, worked hard to package and market. Don was preceded in death by his father and mother, Otto and Esther Premus, brothers Donavon (PeeWee) and Darold (Ike) Premus, and his granddaughter, Jennifer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Coletta, his sister Dorothy Lewandowski of Webster, South Dakota, and an innumerable number of family and friends. Don was a friend to all, with a heart to do what was right. There will be a Visitation Monday, 10/18 from 4pm-8pm and a Rosary at 6pm at Weaver Memorial Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, 10/20 at 11am at Weaver Memorial Chapel in Beaumont, CA.
