

Lee was a resident of Beaumont for 30 years, and had previously lived in the state of Montana. Lee spent 42 years in education. She started her career with Laurel Public Schools in Laurel, Montana in 1970 where she worked for 16 years as the librarian at Laurel High School. Lee moved to Beaumont in 1986 and was the librarian at Beaumont High School for 13 years, then became the Coordinator of Information Technology and Libraries for the Beaumont Unified School District. She retired in 2012 after 26 years with Beaumont Unified School District.
Lee was an active member of Soroptimist International of Banning-Beaumont, Winter Wish Committee, Beaumont Educational Support Team (BEST), St. Stephens Episcopal Church, St. Mary’s Guild, and Delta Kappa Gamma. She also was a volunteer at the Beaumont Oktoberfest, Cherry Festival breakfast, and many other community events. She enjoyed volunteering and supporting the Beaumont community.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lewis Moore, mother, Mary Moore, and brother, Lewis Moore, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne, of Beaumont; brother Mark Moore, of Missoula, Montana; sons Luke (Karynne) of Eastvale, Dustin (Megan) of Beaumont; step-children Don (Khana) of Ohio, Toni (Gretchen) of Alaska; grandchildren Harrison and Stella, of Beaumont, Mia and Jimi, of Ohio, Taylor and Julius of Alaska and her extended family of many friends.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, November 21 at 10:30 a.m.at Beaumont High School Theater with a reception to follow at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the BEST Foundation for the Lee Hackney Scholarship Fund at 350 Brookside Avenue, Beaumont, CA 92223.
