Fred Warren Sowick

Fred Warren Sowick, 79, passed away September 9th, 2014 in Menifee, California. He was born June 27th, 1935 in Akron, Ohio to Andrew and Anna Sowick. He joined the United States Army at a young age and was proud to have served his country.

After his military service he went on to become an Electrical Contractor, a career which he truly enjoyed and continued to do until his retirement. He also loved to golf and would spend much of his spare time on the golf course with his friends. Fred was a devoted father, loving husband, and a truly kind and generous person.

In 1999, Fred was reunited with his high-school sweetheart, Barbara, at a class reunion. Shortly after their reunion he moved with his daughter Kimberlee from Akron, Ohio to Crestline, California, where he married Barbara. They later moved to Yucaipa, California where they enjoyed their retirement together. She would be his first and last love. Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Barbara Sowick in August of 2014.

Fred W. Sowick is survived by his daughters Kathy Workman and her husband Mike of Ohio, Michelle Pickett and her husband Allen of Florida, Kimberlee Turner and her husband Jacob of Yucaipa, Shelli Windham and her husband Al of Hemet, Sara Glibbery and her husband Gary of Lake Arrowhead, Barbara DeVoll and her husband Kevin of Oregon; Michael Sowick of Ohio, Mark Sowick of Ohio; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Fred is loved and will be greatly missed.

A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, October 3rd, 2014 at ll:00 a.m. at the Riverside National Cemetery at 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, California, Staging Area #1 .
