John Thomas McGovern (Tom) age 92, passed away on September 17th after a long and well lived life. Tom was a retired Fire Captain for the City of Garden Grove; and an Aviation Photographer's Mate supporting Naval Intelligence during the Korean War. He enjoyed golf, the beach, ice cream, his "grand-dogs", and was always the best joke teller in the room.
Tom is survived by his wife Sylvia McGovern; children Stephen McGovern, Karen Coey (Bruce), Katie Tuff (Larry); grandchildren Shannon Santore (Chris), Ceallach McGovern, Thomas Tuff, Isabelle Tuff; and sister Elisa Hellesen.
A private graveside burial will take place on October 4th at Riverside National Cemetery.
We request all of Tom's loved ones and friends to join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, October 7th, from 1:00pm - 4:00pm in Banning, California.
