

Konrad Bolowich, 82, passed away June 22nd, 2012 at his home in Cherry Valley, CA. He was the eldest of three children born to Konrad and Barbara Bolowich on August 24th, 1929 in Ernsthausen, Yugoslavia. Konrad survived Communist concentration camps, escaped to Austria, and immigrated to the US in 1951. He was a founding member of DVS Danubia. In 1956 he moved to Cherry Valley to raise chickens, becoming a leader and innovator in the industry building poultry farms throughout the USA. Konrad was a farmer, builder, tinkerer, and an accomplished cake baker. He was fascinated by the world around him and how things worked, living every day with gusto and zeal. He valued the friendship and love he received from the members of his community.
Konrad is survived by Elfriede, his wife of 52 years; his brother Hans and sister Gretchen in Germany; his children Konrad and RoJean, Hans and Carla, Franz and Laure, and Heidi and Dan; as well as his grandchildren Adelyn, Kimber, Franz, Molly, Elise, Colette, Sara, Kaitlin, Afton, Konrad, Amy Amber and Jarrod; his great-grandchildren Elijah, Erica, and Ethan.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to VNAIC Hospice of Banning.
Services will be held at Blessed Kateri Tekewitha Church 157 W. Nicolet St, Banning, California at 10:00 a.m. Friday,June 29, 2012. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, 1315 Edgar Avenue, Beaumont, California.
Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, California.
