

Lee Steven Bertrand, 62, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at his home in Banning, California, surrounded by his family. Lee was born in Middlebury, Vermont, on February 6, 1949. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Jeanne Bertrand and children; Eric James (and Soon Yi) Bertrand, Jason David (and Tonja) Brown, Stephanee Lee (and Ronnie) Pecor, Joshua Lee (and Jennifer) Bertrand, Jacob Andrew (and Jenny) Bertrand and Arianna Nicole Bertrand. He is further survived by 20 grandchildren as well as innumerable extended family, friends and colleagues. Lee served his country as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and later as a Reserve Officer. A voracious learner, Lee obtained a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree at Western Michigan University. He later earned a second Master's degree at the University of Redlands. Lee earned his living in banking and finance. At the same time he taught business at the University of Redlands as well as other universities. In addition, Lee served as the Dean of the Leadership Academy for the Institute of Managerial Accountants. A long standing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lee spent his life teaching and educating other in all things temporal and spiritual. Considered a great man by many, Lee left us with an abundance of love and caring shared by his family. Always the adventurer, he enjoyed the outdoors through hiking, backpacking and Scouting. Lee is predeceased by his four legged hiking companions, Brooke and Huckleberry.
Funeral service Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Banning, California. Visitation Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, California. Lee will be laid to rest in his home State of Vermont with full military honors and his loving family in attendance.
