Lois J Jenkins

Lois Jessie Jenkins passed away October 13, 2015, in Yucaipa, California. Lois was born in Francis, Oklahoma on December 30, 1919. Lois was raised by a good father Jess Garrison and a good mother Helen (Whitaker) Garrison. She had five sisters and two brothers.

Lois came to California with her family in 1937. She married Bill Grimmett in 1938 and lived 10 miles south of Indio until 1945. When Bill and Lois moved to Beaumont, California, they went into the fruit business, peaches, plums and cherries. In 1960 Lois west to work at Sunset Haven and then in 1964, she went to work at the Beaumont Convalescent Hospital, where she worked for 10 years. Lois had also worked at Convalescent Hospitals, as well as Intensive Care Hospitals in Georgia and Florida. In 1974 Bill and Lois divorced. Lois married Claude Jenkins in 1975 and traveled between California, Georgia, Alabama and Florida. Beaumont Church of Christ has been her congregation since 1950.

Lois was preceded in death by her husbands, parents and siblings. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2015, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California. Graveside services will be Friday, October 23, 2015, at 1:00pm at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 11251 Desert Lawn Drive, Calimesa, California.
