Lucia Cambarijan David

Lucia was born Lucia Gamboa- Cambarijan on June 27, 1958, in a small rural town in the province of Tarlac in the Philippines. Her father, Damian Cambarijan, was a soldier who served during World War II under the Philippine Scouts, a unit under the United States Army Philippine Department. Her mother, Soledad Gamboa, was from a family of farmers from a small farming town in Tarlac.

Although Lucia grew up in a small, rural, farming town, she always had her dreams of traveling and seeing much of the world. After finishing a 6th-grade education at Santa Lucia Elementary School, she started to work in the city to help her family financially. Then, by fate, while working in Angeles City in 1974, she met her soulmate, Renato David. They married that year and had their first-born son, Jerome, in March 1975. Then, they had three more sons, Jay, Joel, and Joseph, who were born in 1978, 1979, and 1988, respectively.

Despite being a young mom, starting at the age of 16, she was able to raise four boys while her husband worked mostly abroad to make ends meet. Although she was young, she managed to share her dreams with her children, teaching them the value of education. In 2016, Lucia and her husband, Renato, emigrated to the United States on the East Coast and then moved to California in the autumn of 2017. Through her healthy years, while living on both coasts, she was able to travel to visit different states and Canada, fulfilling her dreams of being able to see the world beyond the small town where she was raised.

Lucia is survived by her husband, Renato; her sons, Jerome, Jay, Joel, and Joseph; her daughters-in-law, Nelia and Shelly; and her grandchildren, Jesse, Vincent, John, Janelle, and Jacob.

A visitation for Lucia will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave, Beaumont, California 92223. A chapel service will occur Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 5:45 PM, 1177 Beaumont Ave, Beaumont, California 92223. A time for remembrance & light refreshments will occur Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 1177 Beaumont Ave, Beaumont, California 92223. A graveside service will occur Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Cemetery, 1315 Edgar Ave, Beaumont, California 92223.
