

She lived in Yucaipa for 30 years and in Beaumont for 15 years. She was a medical assistant for Dr. Rufus Lewter for 8 years.
She was a member of Bryant Street Baptist Church and the Beaumont Women’s Club. She was a seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, crafting and being a beacon of faith and love for her family.
Mary was a sweet lady who loved her family. Her quiet strength and her beautiful smile were beacons shining brightly for her family. She was vigilant in her prayer life and let her children and theirs know her loving devotion and faith in Jesus Christ her Savior.
She is loved dearly and will be profoundly missed. Thank you Mom, Nana, Auntie and Gramma GiGi for loving us all unconditionally. We hope to see you again. Save us a place.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Waylon “Tex” Dalton; her two children Wayland Wallace Dalton and Bobby Reeves Dalton; her grandson Travis “Bubba” Younger Dalton; her father, George Franklin Surratt; and mother, Lydia Dora Pharr.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Lynn Dalton, of Hemet and Chuck Dalton of Lompog, California; daughters, Brenda Marlene Dalton, of Yucaipa, and Sonja Ewing, of Beaumont; granddaughters, Jannette Rickard, of Kalama, Washington, Shelley (Rickard) Marshall, of Ashabula, Ohio, Ticia Lea (Ewing) Roukus, of Studio City, Calif., and Heather Dalton, of Lompog, California; grandson, Kurtis Ewing, of Woodland Hills; and her ten loving great grandchildren.
