

Melba Davis Reger, 96, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2014 at Golden Meadows in Banning, CA. Melba was born May 21, 1917 to Herman and Meta Pietsch Hinz in Farmington, Minnesota and was a graduate of Farmington High School. She was a resident of Big Pine, CA for 63 years, Jamestown, CA for 7 years and Banning, CA for 5 years. She was always active in her community as a Girl Scout Leader, the Gold Diggers Club and an active member of the Methodist Church in Big Pine.
Melba is preceded in death by her husbands, David T. Davis and Harold C. Reger; sisters, Rose Mendenhall, Elaine Mitchell and Carol Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Donna D. Strong; son-in-law, Dr. Richard M. Strong; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family would also like to thank the staff of Golden Meadows for all the love and support they gave for so many years.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at Weaver Mortuary Chapel, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, CA. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org/) in Melba D Reger’s name.
