Patricia M. Gallagher, age 87, of Palm Desert, California passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 4, 2022. Patricia was born November 8, 1934, in Pueblo, Colorado to Francis Rose and Louis Joseph Mramor.
Patricia received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Indiana University, her Master of Arts from the University of Missouri, and Doctoral Degree in Theater Arts also from the University of Missouri. She was a teacher at Stephens College, Los Angeles City College, and Santa Monica City College.
Patricia performed leading roles in many musical productions and was an accomplished opera singer and private voice instructor. In 2000, she won the Ms. Senior California pageant and went on to be crowned Ms. Senior America that same year. Her lifelong love for performing kept her active and engaged well into her 80s.
Patricia belonged to the Palm Springs Opera Guild, The English Speaking Union - Desert (Palm Springs) Branch, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the World Organization of China Painters and the Performing Arts Club at Sun City, Palm Desert.
She is survived by her sons Charles Gallagher and Jack Gallagher, her daughter-in-law Mary Corcoran, her brother-in-law Fulton Gallagher, and her sister-in-law Nancy Gallagher.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father Louis Joseph Mramor, her mother Francis (Gacnik) Mramor and her husband, Edward Locke Gallagher.
A career woman when that was a rarity, a role model for her students and her sons, Jack and Charles, and a loving and supportive wife to her husband, Ed. She was a beautiful spirit and caring person who will live on in our hearts.
